The Ohio Unity Coalition is an affiliate of the national Unity Voter Empowerment Campaign covened by the National Coalition on Black Civic Participation (www.ncbcp.org). The Unity Campaign works nationally with APRI, Lawyers Committee for Civil Rights Under Law, Cost of Freedom Project, Black Youth Vote, and other groups to ensure that Black voters are prepared for the presidential election. National Coalition on Black Civic Participation

Our national partner, the NCBDP is dedicated to increasing civic engagement and voter participation in Black and underserved communities across the United States. The National Coalition strives to create an enlightened community by engaging people in all aspects of public life through service, volunteerism, advocacy, leadership development and voting. The Ohio AFL-CIO is at the forefront of struggles for political power and economic and social justice for working families. Their strength derives from 650,000 union men and women who are affiliated with the Ohio AFL-CIO through 48 international unions and 1,600 local unions. (website)

Ohio State Conference of NAACP Branches

The mission of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People is to ensure the political, educational, social, and economic equality of rights of all persons and to eliminate racial hatred and racial discrimination. (website)

A. Philip Randolph Institute

Following the passage of the Voting Rights Act in 1965, APRI was co-founded by A. Philip Randolph and Bayard Rustin, to forge an alliance between the civil rights movement and the labor movement. Today, APRI seeks structural changes through the American democratic process, and its members support political, community education, lobbying, and labor support activities. (website)

The Interdenominational Ministerial Alliances

The mission of the IMA is to unite and equip its ministers to serve effectively and efficiently in ministry in their local church and in the community at large. They are organized to reach first and foremost the African-American clergy.  Secondly, they reach out and network with other individuals, organizations and groups that share their values and interests. This is called the Jerusalem’s principle (Acts 1:8). Their energy and efforts are concentrated not to be exclusive but to be effective. (website)

Coalition of Black Trade Unionists

CBTU seeks to fulfill the dream of those Black trade unionists, both living and deceased, who throughout this century have courageously and unremittingly struggled to build a national movement that would bring all of our strengths and varied talents to bear in the unending effort to achieve economic, political and social justice for every American. Laborer’s African American Caucuses

In 1996, the Laborers’ International Union of North America (LIUNA) announced the creation of a Minority Advancement Department. The Department was formed to address the concerns of the growing minority membership within the union and to develop links with minority communities around the country. LIUNA’s mission is to improve the political, educational, social and economic status of minority groups and to eliminate racial prejudice. (website)

Prince Hall Masons

Prince Hall was the founder of Freemasonry for Negroes in America. These men, dedicated to a belief in the Fatherhood of God and the Brotherhood of Man, have supported many charitable enterprises and made a significant contribution to the ethical standards of welfare of millions of American citizens. Prince Hall Masons everywhere have pledged to support, defend and protect the American way of life, to uphold the Constitution, the Bill of Rights and to work toward the goal of one nation indivisible with Liberty and Justice for all. National Coalition of 100 Black Women

The mission of the National Coalition of 100 Black Women is to advocate on behalf of black women and girls, and to promote leadership development and gender equity in the areas of health, education and economic empowerment. (website)
